TDJ Pitango Ventures in cooperation with the Israeli Pitango VC fund, Google for Startups, NCBR, Startup Poland Foundation and TDJ will revisit the Polish startup scene to identify the most promising seed and pre-seed technology startups. The competition is targeted at teams from Poland or those planning to incubate in Poland, which have been operating on the market for less than 3 years, including areas such as Agritech, AI / Machine learning, Big Data, Blockchain, Consumer products, Cyber Security, Edtech, Enterprise software, Esports, e-health, Fintech, IoT, Martech, Quantum Computing, Proptech, Sustainability, Wearables.
When reviewing applications, we will focus on ideas and technologies that have the greatest potential to scale globally and make a significant contribution to improving our daily lives. We want to select well-coordinated teams from the Polish startup scene which have a well-thought-out and exceptional vision based on strong technology – says Daniel Star, managing partner at TDJ Pitango Ventures.
The competition jury will include representatives from Google for Startups, Microsoft, PFR, Israeli Pitango VC, Startup Poland Foundation, NCBR and TDJ. The most promising startups will be presented online at the final gala in March. Then we will also get to know the finalists who, in addition to financing, will be able to receive support in the mentoring program and access the fund’s network.
In our opinion, it is not enough to finance projects at an early stage of development. In order to achieve their full potential and be able to reach the next stage, they need the knowledge and experience of people who have been operating in the industry they are interested in for many years or have experience of building and scaling companies. Therefore, in the competition, we provide not only capital, but also access to mentoring and advisors from our international network of contacts – says Wojciech Fedorowicz, managing partner at TDJ Pitango Ventures.
To take part in the competition, you must complete the application form at www.tdjpitango.com by midnight on February 11.
In the first edition of TDJ Pitango Seed Competition, the ideas of GGPredict and Syntoil attracted the most attention. Since then, further business successes have been achieved by both startups. GGPredict was noticed by the world’s largest esports accelerator Hype Sports Innovation and received the main prize during the Esport & Media Demo Day event. In addition, last year the team introduced the first products to the market: an analytical platform for Counter Strike players and a virtual trainer (beta version). In turn, Syntoil has started the process of scaling its installation and is in the process of building a new, larger production plant. In addition, the company has established cooperation with the world’s largest tire manufacturers and a leading chemical conglomerate. In 2020, it was one of two Polish companies to receive a grant of EUR 2.5 million from Horizon 2020 – EIC Accelerator.
