According to a Startup Poland study, 84% of startup owners are under 40 years old and 89% have higher education. This means that young, educated people are the future of the startup ecosystem in Poland. This could be observed at the Start Ups – Israeli Experience conference organized i.a. in cooperation with the Israeli Embassy. The conference took place at the University of Economics in Poznań. It was attended by university students from various fields as well as young engineers who are already thinking of launching their own startups.
The conference featured i.a. a presentation entitled “Do we need Venture Capital?” held by Wojciech Fedorowicz, the managing partner of TDJ Pitango Ventures. He talked about the place of Venture Capital funds in the economy, stressing the value of the international structure of the TDJ and Pitango common fund, which is unique in the Polish market.
